Mini-S lift (face)
An alternative for some patients to the traditional face lift is the "S-Lift." Named for the S-shaped incision hidden in front of the ear, the S-Lift provides an overall lift to the lower third of a patient's face and cheeks. A mini-S lift does not treat the upper third of the face. Baggy eyelids, crow's feet, descended eyebrows or a wrinkled forehead can be addressed by combining your face lift with a brow lift or an eyelid lift. Your personal cosmetic goals will determine which single procedure or combination of procedures should be performed.
Incisions are made in the junctions between the face and ears and at the hairline. The skin of the face and neck is gently elevated and the deeper tissues are tightened to provide a longer lasting lift. Excessive skin is trimmed and then the incisions are precisely closed using a hair-sized suture so that no one will ever know that you have undergone face lift surgery.
After a Mini-S lift
Patients generally experience minimal discomfort and free of pain medication a few days after their procedure.
You will wear a light bandage around your head to protect the incisions. Any mild bruising and swelling usually peaks at three to five days after your face lift before gradually subsiding over the two weeks that follow.
Work activities that do not require significant physical exertion are permissible after one to two weeks. You must avoid lifting, bending over and all strenuous activities for a couple of weeks. At three weeks, low-impact exercise is permissible, followed by unrestricted activity after six weeks.
