Lip Augmentation/Enhancement
Lip augmentation increases the size of the lips to make them fuller and more attractive. Whether you have always had thin lips, or you want to return your lips to the shape and fullness they had when you were younger while reducing fine lines and wrinkles, a lip augmentation procedure may provide you with the look you want.
Most lip augmentations take a half hour to two hours, depending upon the procedure. There are many different types of lip augmentation procedures, each with particular advantages and limitations. Dr. Stein will discuss what the best course of action is, depending upon your desired results.
After Lip Augmentation or Lip Enhancement Surgery
Lips may swell and hurt immediately after surgery. Cold compresses can be used for 48 hours to control the swelling. Talking and chewing during the inital 48-hours after surgery should be avoided as much as possible. Oral pain medications may be used to control the discomfort. Most people report little discomfort in the days after lip augmentation. Lip augmentation gives temporary results. However, results usually last between nine months and one year and can be repeated.
After an injection procedure most people return to normal, public activities within a couple of days. However, bruising and swelling may last as long as a week.
Some of the procedures offer permanent results, and some are temporary. If you want to experiment with a new look, you may want to begin with a temporary method. Scars from incisions made during lip surgery, if any, are rarely perceptible.
